Lebowa Platinum Mine economic impacts study
In order to understand better the wider economic impacts of Anglo American's activities, a study was conducted at Lebowa Mine in South Africa in 2006. Kenton Kirkwood, a post-graduate student of the Tanaka Business School of Imperial College, conducted the research (which contributed to his MBA course requirements) using a template developed by the International Council on Mining and Metals to assess mine economic impacts, A copy of Kenton's dissertation is provided.

This index represents our assessment of whether the Anglo American plc Report to Society 2006 and other public reports such as our Annual Report 2006 and Annual Review 2006 address the criteria set down in the 2002 GRI Sustainability Reporting Guidelines for core performance indicators.
