Student Technical Experience Programme
Our Student Technical Experience Programme (STEP) gives students the chance to get out into the field and spend the summer at one of our operations or exploration sites to discover what it really means to work in the mining and natural resources sector.

We offer about 30 summer vacation work placements to students on our bursary programmes and other selected undergraduates studying mining-related disciplines in UK or European universities.
These are typically available in mining operations or exploration sites in Australia, Europe, Canada, South Africa and South America with our Base Metals, Coal, Exploration and Sustainable Development businesses. Find out if you're eligible and where you can go on our STEP programme.
