Student Technical Experience Programme
Our Student Technical Experience Programme (STEP) gives students the chance to get out into the field and spend the summer at one of our operations or exploration sites to discover what it really means to work in the mining and natural resources sector.
Exploration geologist at Collahuasi
We offer summer vacation work placements to students on our bursary programmes and other selected undergraduates studying geology-related disciplines.
These are typically available in mining operations or exploration sites in Australia, Europe, Canada, South Africa and South America. Find out if you're eligible and where you can go on our STEP programme.
Being on our STEP programme gives you the chance to:
- Work on a real project in a real workplace
- Gain insight into the practical applications of your degree
- Spend two to three months working in a new environment
- Meet new people – perhaps from a different culture and language
- Increase your career prospects with valuable work experience for your CV
Applications for 2010 STEP placements are now closed.
If your interested in STEP but have some questions, read the practical information about visas, costs, duration, and remuneration.
